Pilot-Scale Anaerobic Treatment of Printing and Dyeing Wastewater and Performance Prediction Based on Support Vector Regression

Printing and dyeing wastewater is characterized with complex water quality poor biodegradability. In this study, a pilot-scale anaerobic baffled reactor (ABR) packing was verified to effectively degrade the organic pollutants in through hydrolysis acidification of microorganisms. At hydraulic retention time (HRT) 12 h an loading rate (OLR) 2.0–2.5 kg COD/(m3·d), ABR stabilized fluctuation range pH achieved average colority removal 10.5%, which provided favorable conditions for subsequent aerobic treatment. During early operation period, increased alkalinity wastewater; after 97 days operation, volatile fatty acid (VFA) content decreased. To demonstrate suitability support vector regression (SVR) technology predicting performance reactor, two SVR algorithms three kernel functions were employed relate chemical oxygen demand (COD) its influencing factors, predictions both training validation groups agreed measurements. The results obtained from study can contribute design optimal treatment project industrial plant.
